Howdy folks, it’s been a minute because life has been pretty hectic and busy. Through it all I kept my Senegalese twists in for 7 weeks and some change. Although they were a lovely addition (peep the many different ways I was able to rock my braids below) I did find that I missed my curls!
Isn’t that human nature though always missing what you don’t have … ANYWHO taking out the twists was a simple process, much easier than taking out braids might I add. But after taking them out I still wasn’t ready to tackle detangling the beast that is my hair just yet …. so I wore a wash in go for about 5 days LOL.
Finally after day 5 I emerged my hair in conditioner and after a long pep talk with myself I took the detangling beast head on. It literally took an hour to comb through all of my curls but with patience and my handy dandy Goody Tangle Fix Detangle brush I did it! I expected much more shedding since I hadn’t combed my hair in such a long while but it wasn’t so bad after all.
There is definitely evidence of hair growth just by looking at how much my roots have grown from the color I had put in my hair earlier this year. It’s really growing out! My curls fall about shoulder length which is proof enough to me that my hair is still growing.
I can hardly wait to straighten my hair this fall. I know that I will notice a difference in the length. I do admit that I need to have my ends trimmed ASAP (they haven’t been trimmed since the New Year) HORRIBLE right?!
Other than that all is well in my hair world, I flexi rod my hair up and used my pick to make my hair a big curly afro. I received so many compliments and of course I’m totally in love with my hair again. The braids were a nice break but there is nothing like running my hands through my hair and rocking a big curly afro!
Shout out to NaturallyShesDope for the love 🙂
