While visiting San Diego this past summer, I came across Wyatt Earp’s Historic Gambling Hall and Saloon/George’s 57 Steakhouse. Since childhood, I have been captivated by the 1993 Tombstone movie. This Western movie is based on cowboy tales out of Tombstone, Arizona. The characters include Western legends like Wyatt Earp, Curly Bill, Ringo, and my personal favorite Doc Holliday!
Naturally, I was ecstatic to stumble across this venue. Attached to the restaurant was a room full of Wyatt Earp’s personal artifacts. I found these portraits of Wyatt and his wife Josephine to be the most interesting part of the visit. Let’s just say she didn’t look like this in the movie …..
I not only enjoyed a great historical landmark but also enjoyed great food.
I got the Surf and Turf special, which included a 10 ounce steak, lobster tail, and asparagus. The peppered lobster tail was paired with a creamy butter sauce that was absolutely delicious. The steak was full of flavor and well cooked. Trust me, I know a good steak and lobster! LOL. I enjoyed the steamed asparagus as well. If you are ever out in the San Diego area you should definitely stop by and enjoy this spot! See more pictures below 🙂
